Overpronation/oversupination no longer a problem

I am new to this site and I wanted to share this thought about a site about sports injuries that made me mad because it didn’t even consider the idea that barefoot is better.

At the very bottom of this article there is an interesting quote: “You wouldn’t build a house without getting the foundations right so why do it with your body?”
I don’t know what any of you believe in for how the earth/humankind came into being (evolutionary theory or creationism et al) but, this quote negates all the advice previously given in the article. To summarize, the article essentially teaches what the word oversupinate means (there is a similar article about overpronation as well), what injuries it leads to, and how to care for the problem. The advice is nearly identical for both issues: get better shoes and orthotics/insoles to fix the issue.
Then at the bottom of both articles it has that quote which negates all that advice that said, you need orthotics! YOU DON’T! If mankind was designed or evolved to the place we are today the body’s “foundation” is perfectly fine WITHOUT corrective devices.

Hello everyone – new poster here! I found out about barefoot running because I have foot problems (overpronation plus hallux limitus and I think Morton’s neuroma plus some PF off and on). I am not a runner….yet. I have been reading on here for days and on the Yahoo group with the same name. My question is twofold – can barefoot running help with my foot problems and/or can a barefoot lifestyle without running but with lots of other movement like walking help? I was right at the point where I was considering getting custom orthotics when I found this site but strengthening my feet makes much more sense to me. Thanks everyone for being here and your willingness to help! Oh and if it makes any difference I am 52 and have been way too sedentary for way too long.
